We all fall on hard times. It happens to the best of us.
The direct donation of children’s clothing to families in our community, real people who could use help is an important ongoing goal of Assertive Kids. We aim to connect families with clothing, new and used, on Staten Island, in Brooklyn, Northern New Jersey, and Philadelphia. For clothing donation on Staten Island, call us at 877-235-3319, and we’ll pick up (and deliver) to your doorstep. We also accept clothing donations in New Jersey, so please call us if you have kids clothes that you would like to see go to other local kids!
If you have clothing to donate through our Foundation, please call us and we will arrange for prompt pick-up on Staten Island or in Northern New Jersey. You can easily donate clothes even if you live beyond our immediate area to help our efforts. We can arrange to have clothes shipped right to us! So you can help NYC and NJ kids even if you’re in California!
tax deductible donation; we are a registered 501(c)(3)
If you’ve ever been there, yourself, as we have, you’ll know there’s nothing to be ashamed of about being in need…nor reaching out for help. If you’ve had the good fortune and privilege of avoiding financial difficulties, that’s something to be thankful for.
Many struggling families who receive clothing from us are kind enough to donate their kids’ outgrown clothing to us. “We All Help Each Other” is our mantra, and we life by it.

We all can help keep our communities strong. You don’t need to be in the best position to help. It just takes a little effort, reaching out and giving us a call.
Some parents work and still can’t meet expenses. Some Moms are fleeing physically abusive husbands. Other families are political refugees seeking asylum from countries in turmoil . Many people suffer from ill health of one sort or another are on disability and cannot work. Each family faces unique challenges, yet it’s the same for all these kids: Clothing can be scarce, along with much else.

No child deserves to shiver, or feel ashamed because they own one pair of jeans. Regardless of your political views, or how you feel about charity, you have to agree that children are innocent and do not deserve to suffer under the weight of poverty.
Even if you believe people should “pull themselves up by their own bootstraps,” you’d still have to agree that there’s no way a child can affect their parents’ economic condition, or are in any way responsible for their own family’s economic situation.

The Assertive Kids Foundation accepts donations of used kids clothes on Staten Island and in Northern New Jersey. We pick up all sizes, all kid’s clothing items. Even socks. Some families are really struggling! We also accept baby clothes. Kids’ jackets. These will go to actual children in our community! We’ve donated over $60,000 worth of clothing to kids in need in NYC and New Jersey. We do not shred or sell the children’s clothing that we collect! Please call to schedule pickup.
